FANDANGO RACING

One of my favorite things about motorsports is the camaraderie. Although I have not been in the motorsports scene long, I have been able to see long time friendships be formed the span of a race weekend. I’ve seen teams consisting of driver(s), spotters, engineers, pit crew, and support staff experience jubilation of putting a race weekend together perfectly. I have also seen the dejection of a race weekend going wrong. In my short time of my motorsports photography career I have had the privilege to be let in to some of these friendships. One of my favorite groups I’ve gotten to experience is Drew Ewing, and his two long time friends Eian and Chris from the Fandango Race team. This group of long time friends hold a special place in my heart, because they were one the first people to support my photography. I met them in only my 2nd ever event I attended at Road Atlanta just after the 2023 Petit Le Mans, my first motorsport event I brought my camera to. Drew is a talented driver in his own right, winning Historic Sportscar Racing  Driver of the year for 2024 as well as the team a myriad of other awards and races over the course of the year of 2024 in North American Sports Association and HSR series. He also is a paraplegic driver, utilizing hand controls fitted to into his Porsche Cayman GT4 to pilot his machine. Drew was nice enough to give a brief overview of how his hand controls work and how they can be quickly removed so his co-driver Chris is able to drive the car as well. (HERE) Drew, Chris, and Eian are the epitome of what motorsports is to me. Three friends, their nice car, traveling the country to collect trophies and create memories that will last a lifetime.
